Prostate Cancer affects more than a quarter million men in the USA alone every year. One out of 10 of these men will die from prostate cancer. The majority of these men will survive the disease with or without treatment, however, our efforts to identify patients who will benefit from the treatment remain unclear. The treatment options of early stage organ confined and low risk prostate cancer has been controversial. More often overdiagnosis of the disease has been sited as a consequence of the widespread screening. This lead to a substantial number of men diagnosed with prostate cancer being overtreated. At our center in the university of Colorado health sciences center we initiated a rigorous diagnostic and minimally invasive treatment options for our patients.
